I started this landscape in 2011 and never finished it. It was hanging on the wall close to ceiling in the corner (poor thing). So I picked it up, dressed it and here it is. Maybe I will dress it up a little more. maybe. I have another one from last year and it will done by tomorrow

This landscape painting is like my room with lot of clutter. I usually don't do paintings that are too busy but if you keep doing the same things over and over again  it gets boring.

O.k. so this one looks like the last one (colors that is), the reason is that  when I paint two or three paintings in a day I use the left over paints from the last sitting so that I wouldn't waste paint.

I guess I am back to  doing painting a day or in two hours in this case. Actually I did finish two
(not in two hours); the other needs a little touch-up here and there; I will post it tomorrow.

Lot of my landscape paintings have these bright white button clouds; they start form

far away and as they come closer they get bigger until the very biggest one is standing

on the top.

Landscape oil paintings on small boards are always fun because I can work fast
and don't have to worry about making mistakes for they are very cheap. Paints
gives out wonderfull shine to the painting. I would recomends to the beginners
that they start with boards if money is the issue.

Sometimes the pictures don't come out the way they are being painted. The sky in this painting is  really little darker than what you see here.

Like I said on my last post; I did many wheatfield  paintings and I will continue posting them on my next post.
Regarding Vicent van Gogh (continued from the last post), if he was crazy as everyone says then how is it that he did great paintings. He was fluent in Dutch, French, German and English. His letterwritings were very thoughtfull and insightfull. If he was living in these times I am sure he would have had treatment for whatever he suffered from.

After watching lots and lots of  Vincent van Gogh  (big fan of his work) documentaries I couldn't stop painting wheatfieds. You can watch some on youtube; the good ones are "Power of art" BBC,
" Life of a masterpiece" is about his sunflower painting. There was also a piece on CBS 60minutes about his death that he did not commit suicide but was accidentally shot by some kids. If you are a fan please check these out.
For Canadians there is good news, some of van Goghs paintings are coming to National gallery in Ottawa in May (not sure about the date) please checkout the website for more information. I personally won't miss this. Opportunity of a lifetime so to speak.
Another good news for Picasso lovers. AGO (in Toronto) will have Picassos work starting in May, please check for date. Won't miss this one either although not a big fan. People ask me that why go to the galleries when there is web. I used to think the same until I saw the Courtald collection at the AGO. I just stood there in aw. First word that came out was "wow". Watching a painting on the screen is not the same as as looking at it in front of  you. I just couldn't leave the gallery but too bad I had to otherwise they would have charged me for loiterring. Anyway, don't miss the van Gogh.

Sometimes you do a painting and people would say "nice painting but what is it?" This is one those paintings. Its an elephant; its ear is to the right and trunk on the left side. Tusk is colored yellow, the rest is for you to guess.

I don't do potraits; the reason is I am not very good at it. Olga was a character

from Kafkas "the castle". She and Ks assistants were the only people I could picture in my head, By

the way the book took me very very long time to finish. I read his "metamorphosis" first, I liked it and then I  tried "the castle" and eeehhh.

Shadows in the background on the mountain. Sorry about the size of the pic; the trees got chopped a little. If I had moved the camera a little higher the forground wouldn't have shown. I don't know why orange color always is either too saturated or dull in the pictures whereas in reality its queit the opposite.

Like the writers who sometimes suffer from writers block I think painters like me who paint with imagination also goes through  the same or somewhat same spell. I was in the mood to paint but my mind was a total blank; I had never used cobalt blue as a background so I sketched this up and in about 1/2 an hour there it was. I like the bright colors against blue background. The bud turns into a flower(imaginary, again). Once again today we had an amazing weather and I think the painting goes well with the weather.

I  painted this one a few weeks back when I was thinking of the summer days ahead of us and now its spring. But we had a very mild winter so no need to complain. Weather last week has been absolutely amazing but today it got very windy and a little chilli ,so looking at the painting I am thinking of the bright sun shining on us soon.

process #1

Somebody asked me the process of my paintings from start to finish. First of all thank you for asking and I am very flatterd. There is no specific way of making a painting. Sometimes I would make a sketch and paint straight on the canvas and sometimes first a sketch then quick painting on masonite board and then to canvas. I sometimes sketch then watercolor and then on to canvas. As i have said before, most of my paintings come from imagination and are very simple; so while travelling to work I think of a landscape and make a quick 5min. sketch. Travelling back  I would consider the colors and then work according to my mood. So here is one of my new paintings and the steps. As the oil painting progress the painting comes out a little different from the initial sketch.
